Membership

A single Membership in the Queens Lake Community Association, Inc. (QLCA) is available to each property, as defined in the York County records, northwest of Interstate Highway 64 that is accessed via Lakeshead Drive or West Queens Drive, plus Huntingdon Road and Valor Court.  To activate a membership, the property owners must pay a stock purchase fee and complete a Membership Application Form in which they agree to abide by the QLCA Bylaws and Rules and Regulations, which include the payment of annual maintenance dues.  The property owners then become Members of the Association.  They are issued a stock certificate which is proof of membership and represents an equal share in the ownership of the common property consisting of Queens Lake, Princess Pond, the dams holding them in place, lake and creek access right-of-ways, recreation field, two swimming pools, clubhouse, tennis courts, playground, and marina.  They remain in Good Standing so long as annual maintenance dues are paid.  The privileges of membership include a vote in the affairs of the QLCA and thus in the community.

Boat LandingA renter of a property whose owner is a Member-in-Good-Standing may register as an Associate Member. The renter’s household then has the same participation and usage rights as a Member’s household.

A renter of a property in Queens Lake whose owner is not a Member-in-Good-Standing may become an Associate Member by paying the annual maintenance dues that would otherwise be paid by the owner, plus an associate membership fee. The renter’s household then has the same participation and usage rights as a Member’s household.

A non-resident of Queens Lake may register as a Limited Member for the purpose of using the pools and slip or ramp at the marina. Limited Members pay higher membership fees for these purposes than Members and Associate Members. A non-resident may also rent the clubhouse if sponsored by a QLCA Member or Associate Member.
